November 8, 2016
I hope your weekend was great and that your midterms are almost over! The executive team has been working hard and is excited about the events we have coming up!
Over the past few weeks we’ve been hard at work planning and attending various initiatives. At the beginning of October, the team attended the CIBC Run for the Cure where we either walked or ran 5k and received sponsorship to be put towards finding a cure for Cancer. In addition, two weeks ago we ran Clubs Roundtable where club executives came together and both shared and learned how to more effectively put together events for the student body.
The Students’ Society was incredibly pleased at the turnout for the Laurier open house this past weekend! All the clubs and associations did an incredible job at representing the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics.
As a post midterm celebration, The Lazaridis Students’ Society invites you to Snowball 2016: Fire & Ice! Go to: https://snowball.lazsoc.ca to buy your ticket for the event on November 24th! As always, don’t forget to download the LazSoc app to see upcoming events and utilize the discount program!
Good luck on the rest of your midterms!

What’s your favourite Laurier moment?
It doesn’t really count as just one, single moment … but hands down I’m the happiest when I’m doing anything with the Golden Speakers Club. I remember an event we had at the end of September 2015, when a first-year student spoke up in front of everyone and said “since coming to University, this is the first time I’ve felt accepted.”
If you could give one piece of advice to first years, what would it be?
Advice: if you come up with an idea to make the lives of Laurier students better, talk to someone about it. Get them excited. Then they’ll get other people excited. Next thing you know, you’ll jump out of bed every morning with this burning Purpose in your heart, trusss me dawg that s*** is real.
What’s your motto?
“Learn Freely & Live Fully”
“Enjoy Every Moment”
“Breathe and Be Thankful”
My motto is to have a lot of mottos.
Where’s your favourite place to go on a Saturday night?
In the middle of a dance circle. It could be at Phil’s, Night School, at a random parking lot, inside a classroom, anywhere is good really.
And by the end of the night I’m all down for real talks with my Burnstorm Brothers.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?
I’d be down to spend a week as a monk on a mountaintop with a beautiful view, just to feel how peaceful it is.
What’s one word that best describes you?
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be and why?
If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it’d have to be Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Because it’s the best source of all 4 food groups.
