Hey Golden Hawks!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is excited after the Mens Football team brought home the 109th Yates Cup! With midterm season wrapping up and the holiday season fast approaching us it’s time to celebrate.

Our Executive Team has been working diligently to put together our upcoming Winter Gala, Snowball: Fire & Ice! This a fantastic opportunity to kick back and relax with your friends before final exams! Tickets are still available, go to: https://snowball.lazsoc.ca to buy your ticket for the event on November 24th!

If you haven’t heard yet, the LazSoc App is a great new resource where you can find out everything that is happening on campus, and even better, indulge in some amazing discounts at local stores in K/W region!

Don’t forget to take a break and celebrate all your hard work!

Cheers,

What’s your dream job? Who would you be working for, what would your role be, and where would you be living?

My dream job would be to work as Santa’s Helper in the North Pole. I would be his accountant because I want to know how he pays for all the presents. Also, free hot chocolate and candy canes outweigh dental and health benefits by like 100%.  I wouldn’t want to live in the North Pole all the time though because it’s way too cold, so I’d also have a summer home in the South of France.

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why?

I would say Angelina Jolie. I look nothing like her but she kicked major butt in The Tourist and I think she could do a good job portraying my action-packed life. *Car explodes in background*

Where would you go in a time machine?

I would go back in time and buy some of Van Gough’s paintings before he was a well-known artist. Then I’d come back to the present where I’d make a ridiculous profit, donate half to charity and retire by age 20.

What’s your favourite meal to have on campus?

Wilf’s spin-dip with a side of sweet potato fries. Is there any debate?

If you could give first year students one piece of advice before exams, what would it be?

Don’t be scared. Exam season can be very intimidating and sometimes stress can get the better of you. The best thing to do is to take a deep breath, realize that hard work pays off, and walk into your exam with confidence. As Henry Ford once said: It doesn’t matter whether you think you can or you think you can’t, either way you’re right!

Also, enjoy this photo of me at exam time and realize that it does get better:

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would buy?

A Hermes Birkin bag. Or maybe at this point just some groceries.

What’s your favourite Laurier moment?

My favorite Laurier moment would have to be presenting our New Venture idea at the final competition. It was such a cool experience and was really inspiring to see the amazing ideas my peers came up with. However, there are so many incredible moments I’ve had at Laurier, its hard to pick just one. It truly is great to be a Laurier Golden Hawk.
