First-Year Director

Overview:
The Laurier Economics club is looking for a First-Year Director who will be a part of a rotational program where they will have the chance to work with various portfolios for the whole year. These portfolios include Finance, Human Resources, Events, Marketing, Academics, and Corporate Relations. All executive members must attend all LEC executive team meetings, internal socials/activities and LEC events unless prior notice is given. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of initiative and the ability to identify gaps that need to be filled to help the team. We are looking for someone who is responsible, detail-oriented, a team player, and open to learning and doing new tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Encourage first-year students to get involved with the club through advertising and promoting.
- Support and develop relationships with first-year students through interactive activities.
- Interact and build strong relationships with members of each portfolio to support and understand their goals in the club.
- All executive members must attend all LEC executive team meetings, internal socials/activities and LEC events unless prior notice is given.

Qualifications & requirements of the ideal candidate:
- You have passion and enthusiasm for meeting new people and building meaningful relationships with them, reflecting your strong communication skills.
- You have a strong ability to take initiative and remain responsible in a fast-paced environment.
- You have excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- You are open-minded and able to adapt and adjust to learning and doing new things.

Time requirement:
5 – 10 hours a week (Times may fluctuate depending on the time of the semester, events requirements, etc.)
