Research Development Program

The Laurier Economics Club's Research Development Program is for aspiring economic enthusiasts to develop an understanding of economic research ranging from theoretical application, model interpretation, and economic data analysis.

The program is 8 weeks long and will entail identifying economic issues, brainstorming ideas, writing effective proposals, and presentations of their findings, and structuring an effective research report. Each weekly session will entail teaching how to conduct economic research from identifying an economic topic, to collecting data to support your analysis and creating of an economic report. By the end of the program, analysts will be able to use excel for data analysis, STATA for data visualizations, and Statistics Canada for navigating databases.

Application Deadline: Nov 15th, 2022 at 11:59 pm

The program will run biweekly, though this is subject to change until the actual start date of the program. The program will run from January 13th - March 28th.

There is a limited amount of space available for this program so we encourage all applicants to submit their strongest application to have the best chance of getting into the program.
