Role Overview - The Laurier Economics Club is looking for a Vice President of Academics. The VP of Academics will act as the face of the club in the Academic Sessions for 1st and 2nd-year students. You will be creating the most impact in the club through hosting review and mock-midterm session for students that may be struggling with economics-related materials.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Plan and host academic sessions and create mock midterms for EC120 and EC140
• Collaborating with the Marketing portfolio in ensuring appropriate marketing efforts for all events and that relevant information and access are provided to students who most need it
• Maintaining a strong relationship with the Department of Economics such as the EC120/EC140 professors
• All executive members are required to attend all LEC executive team meetings, internal socials/activities and LEC events unless prior notice is given.

Qualifications & requirements of the ideal candidate:
• Strong academic background in EC120 and EC140 and other economics-related concepts
• Excellent verbal communication skills and public speaking skills
• Great time management and organizational skills to host academic sessions
• Highly effective working in both a team environment and autonomously
• Previous tutoring experience and completed 2nd Year Economic Courses is an asset

Time requirement:
5 – 10 hours a week (Times may fluctuate depending on time of the semester, events requirements, etc.)
