Role Overview - The Laurier Economics Club is looking for a Vice President of Events to plan, create, and carry-out club events that supports LEC's vision and provides meaningful value to the business and economics community.
The VP of Events will be the main creator, facilitator and the person that brings the life to the club's dreams. You will help plan and organize events, reach out to relevant speakers/sponsors, and bring the club's visions and plans to reality!
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Event ideation, planning and execution suitable for students in the Laurier Community
• Communicating and reaching out to potential speakers and sponsors for different events
• Collaborating with the Marketing portfolio in ensuring appropriate marketing efforts for all events
• Supporting the Academics portfolios in event planning for academic sessions
• Maintaining a strong relationship with the Department of Economics
• All executive members are required to attend all LEC executive team meetings, internal socials/activities and LEC events unless prior notice is given
Qualifications & requirements of the ideal candidate:
• Creative and innovative in event planning and organization
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage an extensive and variable workload, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work while managing multiple ongoing responsibilities
• Great initiative and growth-oriented mindset
• Highly effective working in both a team environment and autonomously
• Previous event organization experience is an asset
Time requirement:
5 – 10 hours a week (Times may fluctuate depending on time of the semester, events requirements, etc.)
