VP of Events

Hours of Commitment: 7-9 hours/week

The role of VP of Events will report directly to the Co-Presidents and work closely with the Director of Events to coordinate all of DECA Laurier’s conferences and competitions throughout the 2019/2020 year. VP of Events will spearhead leadership for all of the endeavors that the team encounters. The events team will primarily be in charge of overviewing all of the resources needed to successfully execute our events, as well as, setting the guidelines and itinerary for the conferences. The VP of Events will communicate closely with other Vice Presidents on the executive team.

- Strong organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
- High sense of accountability and punctuality
- Previous event planning experience is an asset.
- Organized and is able to manage time efficiently and effectively
- Extremely resourceful and able to creatively execute plans

- Resource planning for venues, catering, and reasonable accommodation for delegates
- Manage bookings and order processing for all events and conferences
- Strategic planning of flagship events – our invitational conference
- Coordination and collaboration with other clubs and organizations
- Coordinate delegates, judges and networkers for various events throughout the year
- Other duties as assigned
