LBER:
The Laurier Business and Economics Review is a strategic magazine written and designed by undergraduate students at the Lazaridis School for Business and Economics. It explores student perspectives through global sector analysis, showcasing talent rooted in the Lazaridis community, and growing our students’ global impact.
Position Summary:
The Director of Finance will assist the VP of Finance in all budgetary and financial matters for the upcoming academic year. By ensuring the timely submission of documentation and recording of expenses for operations, you will make vital contributions to the ongoing management and growth of LBER.
Responsibilities:
Providing assistance to the Vice President of Finance in the creation of the budget for the academic year, as well as documenting all relevant transaction information
Coordinating necessary reimbursements to club executives for expenses incurred during event planning
Make practical recommendations to the club Presidents with regards to allocation of budget funds
Explore potential sponsorship opportunities in conjunction with the Outreach team to ensure long-term growth and partnership formation
Qualifications
Previous experience with budgeting, finance and accounting tasks is an asset
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
Analytical and problem solving skills
Strong interest in accounting and finance
Time Commitment:
3-6 hrs/week*
