Role Description:
This position works closely with the technology team to design the best user experience for Laz students. Through the use of design tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe, etc.) and design thinking, the UX Designer will focus on improving the overall design of LazSoc.ca and ensure that the website is functional and aesthetically pleasing. This role is also responsible for creating forms and conducting market research to constantly looking for ways to improve current processes and implement student feedback into LazSoc practices. The ideal candidate has a natural curiosity, high attention to detail, and passion for design!

Duties and Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited to:
Update website regularly
Work through site and enhance user experience
Conduct research and tests
Conduct market research on how to improve accessibility with all of lazsoc's initiatives
Attend all weekly LazSoc full team meetings and LazSoc events
Identify opportunities to add value and improve implementation of website
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
Experience in design with experience in web design as a bonus
Creative problem solver 
Experience using any design software (e.g., Photoshop, Figma, Miro, Adobe, etc.)
Any coding experience (e.g., Python, Java, C, etc.)
Someone who can easily pick up and replicate tasks
Experience with the Shopify platform is an asset, but not required
Good collaboration skills, strong written & oral communication
Passion for learning about technology & looking for an opportunity to gain coding experience!
Time Commitment
Approx. 8-10 hours per week - will vary throughout the year depending on projects.
